I can't speak to difficulty, but... Metroid Dread is the new hot platformer for Switch and is supposed to be very good. My island in ACNH gets some attention, too. I think the only platformer I’ve ever beaten was the first Ori, which is definitely worth getting through the frustrating parts, though I stalled out on the sequel which for me was more difficult.
The original Axiom Verge was a long-delayed, long-hyped letter of love to Metroidvania games. Axiom Verge is one of the hottest indie games on the horizon, and it’s only taken designer Tom Happ five years to create. I wanted to beat Resident Evil: Revelations, but... Something bad happened. The career mode is quite a challenge well worth investing in, but some of those race objectives are hard to pull off. missing the unlockable by 13 seconds -_-. After beating Dread last weekend, I wasn’t ready to bid Samus goodbye, so I just finished my first play through of Fusion.
